Ashley Jackson

John is passionate about entrepreneurship and business development.
Like many entrepreneurs, he has launched both successful and failed businesses. A true believer in “failing forward”, John looks for new opportunities in every situation. This mentality allows him to connect with entrepreneurs and business owners in a meaningful way to help them navigate difficulties and grow their success.

Outside of his practice of law, John previously served as Chairman of the Board for Roc Solid Foundation, a national non-profit that builds hope for families fighting pediatric cancer. John also served the City of Chesapeake as a Planning Commissioner for five years, including leadership roles as Secretary and Vice-Chairman. John currently serves as an elected Member of the Chesapeake School Board. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors and loves spending time with his wife and four children.
John graduated from Regent University School of Law in 2010, where he served as Chairman of the Moot Court Board and a member of the Student Leader Advisory Board. After law school, John found his niche practicing real estate and business law throughout Virginia and North Carolina.
In real estate, John has experience representing investors, developers, builders, banks, lenders, and individual home buyers in a variety of transactions. He has handled transactions involving shopping centers, apartment complexes, retail stores, restaurants, and hotels.
John’s business practice ranges from advising entrepreneurs to assisting established business owners in mergers, acquisitions, contracts, litigation and dispute resolution. He has worked with a variety of businesses ranging from small startups to an international multi-billion dollar corporation.
John is licensed to practice law in both Virginia and North Carolina.

Emma provides legal advocacy for corporations, limited liability companies, and nonprofit organizations in Virginia and North Carolina, including services related to formation, maintenance, restructuring, and negotiations. She further assists clientele with complex mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, zoning matters, and intellectual property filings. Prior to working with McCormick Law & Consulting, Emma was a Staff Attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina. She received her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2019 and her B.A. from New York University in 2012. During law school, Emma was the Online Editor and a published staff writer for the Wake Forest Law Journal of Law & Policy, a member of the Community Law and Business Clinic, and a two-time recipient of the Hopkins Pro Humanitate Summer Grant. She also served as summer intern for the Honorable S. Bernard Goodwyn Jr. of the Virginia Supreme Court. When she’s not at work, Emma enjoys going to concerts, browsing local bookstores, and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Steven Thomas
Steven is a Virginia native, excited to serve clients through litigation in Hampton Roads.
Steven graduated from the Regent University School of Law, where he was awarded the Corporate, Commercial & Transactional Law Award and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Foundation Trial Advocacy Award. While at Regent Law, Steven served as the President of the Business Law Society and Chairman of the Trial Advocacy Board, where he led Regent Law to a National Trial Advocacy Championship.
Steven’s litigation focus includes: business & corporate, shareholder and owner disputes, property disputes, breach of contract, business conspiracy, fraud & conversion, and criminal & traffic defense.
Steven and his wife Savannah live in the beautiful Larchmont neighborhood of Norfolk, enjoy spending time with their puppy dog, Hank, and investing in their local church. It’s a good bet you will find the Thomas family out getting ice cream in Norfolk on most nights!
Steven is licensed to practice law in Virginia and North Carolina. In 2025, Steven was recognized by Coastal Virginia Magazine as a “Top Lawyer” in the field of Traffic Law.


Madeline Loving
Madeline Loving grew up outside Nashville, Tennessee, where she excelled in youth government programs, mock trial, show chorus, and equestrian sports.
Madeline graduated early with her Bachelor’s degree in public administration and economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (Class ‘17). During her undergraduate studies, she spent years working for a local real estate firm and title company. She has experience in title abstraction, title opinions, residential property transactions, title insurance, and corrective title procedures.
Madeline attended Tulane Law School (Class ‘21) in New Orleans, Louisiana. While securing her Juris Doctorate, she worked with a variety of private sector and public interest litigators. Multiple internships equipped her with skill sets in criminal defense, consumer fraud matters, U.S. Security and Exchange Commission investigations, and large asset civil litigation. Madeline began her trial experience in law school as an LASC Rule XX Student Attorney, where she successfully represented juveniles in criminal defense and domestic abuse matters.
Madeline has a wide variety of litigation and courtroom experience including civil, criminal, and traffic matters.
Madeline is a member of the Virginia State Bar. Shortly after law school, she relocated to Norfolk with her partner, James, and their two dogs — Penny the Bernedoodle, and Ike the Morkie.

Crystal Armstrong
Crystal, born and raised in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, is a proud graduate of Souderton Area High School, where she excelled both academically and athletically, earning All-State honors as a water polo goalie. She went on to complete her undergraduate studies at DeSales University in the Lehigh Valley, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society and a minor in Psychology. Crystal’s academic excellence earned her membership in the prestigious Phi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society.
Crystal earned her Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law. During her time at Regent, she was a member of the Center for Global Justice and gained valuable, practical experience working in both public interest and private litigation firms. These experiences equipped her with a strong foundation in criminal law and civil litigation. Crystal is licensed to practice law in Virgina and focuses her practice on civil litigation and traffic/criminal defense.

Kati Johnson
Kati is a Texas native but has found a home in Suffolk, VA, after her 22 years of dedicated service to the United States Navy. She has a strong background in nonprofit management, administration, and community engagement. With a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership specializing in Nonprofit Management from Regent University, Kati has honed her ability to lead teams, organize large-scale events, and drive impactful initiatives that foster positive change.
As a business owner and community advocate, Kati has successfully managed operations, financial oversight, and fundraising efforts, demonstrating her strategic acumen and passion for service. She has organized charitable events and has played a vital role in nonprofit organizations, serving as a volunteer coordinator, fundraiser, and mentor.
Her military career has equipped her with exceptional leadership, administrative, and crisis management skills. She has supervised teams, developed training programs, and streamlined operations for efficiency. A natural problem solver and collaborator, Kati is committed to building strong relationships, fostering community engagement, and driving organizational success. With a deep commitment to serving others, Kati is eager to bring her leadership, operational expertise, and passion for social impact to nonprofit organizations.
Kati and her husband Alonzo are proud parents of two boys, Phillip and Shane, and a wonderful dog, Cam. Their family values are Faith, Family, and Football.
